One Stage One Community: Honoring The Life Of Tim Samarin April 12th 7pm At The Bonfire Las Vegas

Celebration Of Life

 A Celebration of Life Through Music: Honoring Tim Samarin at The Bonfire Las Vegas

The Las Vegas music community will come together in a powerful, heartfelt way on April 12th at 7 p.m. as The Bonfire Las Vegas hosts a Celebration of Life “Open Jam” in honor of guitarist, singer, songwriter, entertainer, educator, family man, and beloved friend, Tim Samarin. This special evening is open to the public and expected to draw 100–150 attendees, including musicians, family, friends, and fans whose lives Tim touched with his warmth, talent, and unmistakable spirit.

The event will feature a full house band, complete with stage, backline, MC, and sound engineer, ready to support all soloists and groups who wish to perform in Tim’s memory. It will be an open jam in the truest sense—musicians stepping up, plugging in, and playing from the heart for a man who lived his life through music.

This gathering isn’t just a show; it’s a tribute to a life defined by connection. Tim had a rare gift: he made everyone feel welcome. Whether on stage, backstage, or simply out in the world, he never met a stranger. His kindness, humor, and genuine love for people made him a cherished figure both inside and outside the Las Vegas music scene.

A native Las Vegan, Tim pursued his education at California State University, Dominguez Hills, before dedicating nearly 30 years to teaching as Director of Education at the Internet Home School. His passion for helping others learn was matched only by his passion for music.

In 2017–2018, fate stepped in when Tim and his best friend, James Daniel Brown, headed out to a music venue—an ordinary night that became extraordinary. There, Tim ran into Laurie Cook, the woman who would become his wife, partner, and musical collaborator. Together, they built a life filled with love, creativity, and performance, eventually forming Laurie Cook and the Heat, a project that showcased their chemistry both on and off the stage.

For Tim, family and music were everything. Laurie was the center of his world, and music was the soundtrack that carried him through every chapter. Those who knew him—whether for decades or just a moment—felt his sincerity, his joy, and his unwavering positivity!

❤️ A Legacy That Lives On

Tim Samarin was more than a musician. He was a husband, father, son, educator, friend, bandmate, and pillar of the Las Vegas music community. His presence lifted rooms, inspired performers, and brought people together. His absence is deeply felt, but his spirit continues to resonate through every chord, every lyric, and every memory shared by those who loved him.

On April 12th, the community he helped shape will unite to celebrate not just his music, but his life, his achievements, and the happiness he brought to so many. It will be a night of stories, songs, laughter, and emotion—a night Tim would have loved.

Tim, you are loved by many. Your music plays on, and your spirit remains forever part of the Las Vegas Music Scene.

{My Take}

As the final notes ring out on April 12th, what will linger longest is the spirit of a man who gave this community far more than music. Tim Samarin built bridges, lifted others, and lived with a generosity of heart that left an imprint on everyone he met. This Celebration of Life “Open Jam” isn’t just a tribute—it’s a reminder of how deeply he shaped the Las Vegas music family. Through every song shared and every memory spoken, Tim’s light continues to shine, reminding us that the best legacies are the ones built on love, connection, and the joy of creating something very special together!

Our Las Vegas Music Community sends our love to his wife, Laurie, and to his family.

Rest In Peace, Tim!
